Reviews and Comments
1 reviewsThis was a decent movie, nothing groundbreaking. I don’t have much to say since it kinda escaped me once I walked out, but I had a ok time with this film. The music was pretty decent and the acting was good. I thought this was a simple story we’ve seen countless times. Underdog USA, and a humble yet skilled person will save the war. The James Stagg character, to me, gives off misunderstood genius OC. He was just so cocky and awkward and rude to people. There were a few scenes that I liked his character (final weather report scene and the church scene). These scenes were phenomenal and I felt like this aura of cocky genius really helped these scenes. But for most of the movie he’s just cocky and rude, up until the end I guess. I did like the scene where his wife’s hospital gets bombed, it added tension and I wanted to see where that went. It was a nothing burger and she was fine so that sucked. Krick has a weird intro and at first I didn’t like him, but I liked having another opposing weather man and the dynamic between him and Stagg. Watching him get proved wrong during the church scene was great, I think the best scene in the film. Brendan Frazier was phenomenal as Eisenhower, lots of authority and power coming from his performance so that’s great. It was a palatable film, some moments made me gloss over the screen but it was fine. Watched it with my dad and he liked it so there is value in it, I personally didn’t feel as connected or impacted by it. 6/10
